A Taste of Honey Writing Workshops In conjunction with our production of A TASTE OF HONEY, Shelagh Delaney’s iconic play, the Royal Exchange Theatre is working in partnership with Salford Arts Theatre to support the 2024 Shelagh Delaney Playwriting Prize.

We will be offering 3 workshops open to female-identifying playwrights, with the aim to create a safe and supportive environment for them to explore their writing practice. These workshops have been curated to spark imaginations, provoke stories and encourage ambitious theatrical ideas. We hope that these workshops inspire applications to the Shelagh Delaney New Writing Award, which is open for submissions until Friday 31st May 2024.

Soho Theatre Verity Bargate Award Writers Workshop Soho Theatre are hosting a playwriting workshop to prepare writers ahead of submitting their new play for the Verity Bargate Award 2024.

This is one of a number of workshops happening at venues across the UK and Ireland.

Early stage playwrights (defined as having had less than three professional productions of work) will be provided with information about the scope of Soho Theatre’s current programs, their three theatre spaces, and what storytelling and theatricality mean to them.
